After signing up for free, you can click on the “public strategies” section (A) and see all the strategies. The strategies can be viewed in two ways, the “All Results” view, which includes all the data used in the research period and the actual results since it was created; and secondly there is a “Since shared” view (B), which only includes the actual results since the strategy was created. The great advantage of the “Since shared” views is that we can see the strategies that are actually in profit and making money for real. We can then click on the online table (C) to rank the data anyway we like. We can rank them by Betaminic rating, total profit, by yield, by average odds, by average number of bets per month, by biggest losing run (maximum drawdown), and even by the number of users who follow these winning systems. When choosing which strategies to follow, the “Since shared” view is highly recommended since you can see real proof of positive results and profitable performance.

 

The Best of 2020

With so much choice, and the profitable strategies having a variety of characteristics, it can be hard to know which ones to choose and how to start. To make things easier, we are going to rank the top 10 strategies in five categories: for highest profit, highest yield, lowest drawdown (i.e. with the smallest losing runs, therefore being better for conservative bettors who want to protect their bank), best Betaminic rating and by Big Data set size. We will also show a final Overall Summary Table of the best performers. As a basic filter, only strategies with over 100 bets in their since shared data set and yields over 3% have been ranked. The Top 10 strategies in each category will be ranked using the official “Since shared” view.

Top 10 Winners by Profit

 

Profits No.1: Braveheart +76 points

The current top strategy for profit is Bravehart by user Alexis. This strategy has made an amazing 75 points in less than 6 months. It has a very high yield of 47% and has made 160 bets since it was shared. It backs the underdog in specific games where goals are expected. This strategy has high average odds of 6.49 and a win rate of 23%. This means, just as its notes suggest, that it is a strategy that can have long losing runs and then some big priced winners. This strategy has found value in higher odds ranges, but be aware that a “normal” 10 bet run for this strategy is 8 losses and 2 wins if everything is going to plan. That can be a long losing run for some. But its profits have been stunning and for long term bettors with a solid staking plan in place, it could be a good addition to a betting portfolio. It has a maximum drawdown of -20 in its since shared period and -35 over the past 8 years It is currently in its 5^th consecutive month of profit with about 26 bets per month.

Profits No.2: Deneme +60 points

This is another strategy that backs underdogs with highs odds, but its selection method is completely different to the previous strategy, Braveheart. Deneme, by user GrandEknoks, looks at long term trends for the home and away team in terms of average wins and losses. It then filters matches based on the draw odds instead of looking directly at the underdog odds. This novel approach has produced 60 points profit over the past 2 years. It has a very high yield of 32% with a surprisingly low drawdown for a strategy with a 24% win rate. The maximum drawdown is only -13 in the period since it was shared and -26 over the past 8 years of 945 bets. Just like the previous high profit strategy, Braveheart, even when things are going as planned, there will be long losing runs of 8 losses and a couple of high odds winners. Since the research methods are quite different for Deneme and Braveheart, the two of them could be used together in a high profit system.

 

Profits No.3: Colossus 06 Away Scoring Overs +59 points

This strategy was in 10th place in the 2019 Profit table, 2^nd in the 2019 Betaminic Rating table and 5^th in the 2019 Big Data rankings. This strategy has really shown itself to be a long term pattern that keeps making profits. It is based on looking for games where the away side is expected to score goals and this creates more chance for games with plenty of goals. If the away team gets one goal, the home team will press harder, leaving them open at the back to concede more, or pressing forward to get the 2 goals need to overturn the visitor’s 1. This strategy is the most successful strategy that came out of Tom Whitaker’s 2018 book and is still going strong. It added +22 points profit to its total in 2020 and now it has 59 points profit after 702 bets which gives it a lot of data to back up its pattern. It has a stunning 8% yield after over 2 years and hundreds of bets. The win rate of 58% and average odds of1.88 make it a very comfortable and easy strategy to follow. It has had 2 months of consecutive losses on a few occasions, but overall it shows a strong, steady upward progression. It has a Betaminic rating of 100 which suggests its pattern is very strong one. It is the second most followed strategy on Betaminic with over 160 followers. This strategy is recommended as a good strategy to include in any Betaminic users portfolio.

 

Profits No.4~10

From the next 7 strategies, we see some familiar names that have found long term patterns. DOUBE CHANCE (4^th in 2020, 5^th in 2019) and EPL INVERSA (9^th in 2020, 6^th in 2019) both appeared in 2019’s top 10 for profit. They have continued their good runs.

4^th DOUBE CHANCE, by user nirnouta50, is a 1X bet strategy that picks up on home teams facing a stronger away opponent and backs the home team to get something out of their tough home fixture. How many times have we seen away teams with big names go odds on and then stumble to a draw as the home team digs in for their home fans. This strategy finds those games. If you like rooting for the underdog, then this is a great one to follow and enjoy watching the game live. DOUBE CHANCE added 22 points profit to its total and is now on 55 points since shared. It has an impressive yield of 13%, average odds of 2.73 and a low Maximum Drawdown of -11. This is the third most popular strategy on Betaminic with 128 followers.

5^th Away wins, by user Bastian, was highlighted in our Best of 2018 article as a profit strategy for the future, and so it has proved. It backs away wins in a select few leagues for teams that have not won away for a while, which may lead to the bookmaker models pricing those teams higher than their true odds and giving us value bets. It made over 40 points profit in 2020 with a yield of 12%.

6^th Home win contra tendencia andrews371 was shared in January 2020 and has already made 471 bets leading to 47 points profit with a yield of 10%. 471 bets is a large number and a good sign of a strong pattern. This strategy bets on home teams that have struggled to win at home, thus their odds get raised by the bookmaker model.

7^th No Draws Medium Streak – Both Teams by Maxi is a draw backing strategy that looks for games where few goals are expected and a draw seems on the cards after a recent streak without. This strategy made an impressive 30 points profit in 2020 to bring its since shared total to 43 points. Its 18% yield and clear logic make it very appealing.

8^th Draw trend 2 by Serhii is another draw strategy but is based on completely different logic to Maxi’s 7^th place strategy. Draw trend 2 backs the draw in games between two teams both playing well and winning games. It has 36 points profit with a yield of 12%. Despite a win rate of 33% it has a low maximum drawdown for a draw based strategy of -25 over the past 8 years.

9^th EPL INVERSA, by user arisco, backs underdogs at home against odds-on away teams, in this way it is similar to DOUBE CHANCE in its core idea, but bets on the straight home win, rather than a home win or draw as DOUBE CHANCE does.

10^th DNB Home win – strong teams, by user accumulator, has burst onto the scene in the second half of 2020. It was only shared in July 2020, but has already made 36 points profit from 241 bets, giving it a ROI of 15%. Its Betaminic rating of 100 suggests it has found a strong trend. This strategy backs the Draw No Bet pick for home teams that have good form who are going up against away teams that also have good form. This leads to some very decent average odds of 1.91. The 46% win rate and low drawdown of just -5 in 2020 and -17 over the previous 8 years make this a very attractive strategy.

 

HIGHLIGHT – DON’T MISS THESE 2 STRATEGIES

This is a draw backing strategy that looks for games where few goals are expected and a draw seems on the cards after a recent streak without. This strategy made an impressive 30 points profit in 2020 to bring its since shared total to 43 points. Its 18% yield and clear logic make it very appealing. Keeping such a high yield after so many bets is a good sign.

 

Yields No. 4~10:

We see DNB Home win – strong teams (7^th) and DOUBE CHANCE (9^th) turn up again in the yields table as well as the profits table, which highlights their strengths.

Visitante H 0.0 (6^th,) by user mandraco, is another strategy that was highlighted in our 2018 article and has continued its good performance. It only has a about 8 picks per month, but over 2 years has had 180 bets making 28 points profit with 15% yield. It has high average odds for a Draw No Bet strategy of 4.23. This strategy looks for home teams with good win records and then backs the Away DNB bet. The strategy also focusses on lower leagues, trying to take advantage of the variable levels of consistency and form in those leagues.  

TOM WHITAKER Away Team Against The 3 Match Trend (10^th) was only shared in October 2020, but in less than 3 months it has made 30 points with an 11% yield. This strategy tries to make profit by going against the trend on away wins. Very simply, if the away team did not win any of their last 3 or more games overall, their away win odds will be higher than usual as bettors hold back and the bookmaker model marks them up. One difference between this strategy and other away win strategies is that it limits bets to odds of 5 to avoid higher risk bets. This helps keep the average odds down to 3.42 and the win rate at a more comfortable 35% instead of the more usual 20% win rate for away win strategies. Top 10 Winners by Maximum Drawdown

 

Maximum Drawdown No.1: Away X 4 Over

This strategy is by lousibang (the creator of Pro-Home). Here he takes a very interesting idea and turns a profit. This strategy backs the over 2.5 goals result in matches of selected leagues after the away team has had 3 draws in a row. The logic being that a team that after 3 unbeaten games, the away team may be pushing for a win, or be of sufficient confidence to play a more attacking game in their next match. This may lead to more goals. If the home team gets goal, the away team seems to have enough form to suggest they can stay in it and get an equalizer and then the 3^rd goal for either team is not far away. This strategy has only had 98 bets, but with a 8% yield has made 8 points profit. The incredible low drawdown of -4.53 is the most attractive thing here and the win rate of 54% makes this an easy strategy to follow.

 

 

 

Maximum Drawdown No.2: Double Chance Home or Away win

This is a double chance strategy that focusses on the 12 bet. It bets that the game will not be a draw. These kind of strategies are good for simple double chance bets, but are also very good for Lay The Draw selection strategies that seek out matches that are unlikely to be draws. The user Goliath has made a number of 12 double chance strategies that find profitable selections. This strategy looks for teams that have not won their previous few games and thus enter this match looking for a win to reduce the pressure building up on them. It has a very low drawdown of -5.2 after 249 bets since shared and only -7 in 8 years of 3,975 bets. The average odds of 1.33 and low drawdown will allow higher stakes to be placed on the picks and leverage even more profit from this strategy..

 

 

 

Maximum Drawdown No.3: No more draws in my life

This is another 12 double chance betting strategy from the user Goliath. It uses completely different settings than his previous strategy, which means it will produce different selections and can be used together as a set. This strategy focusses on leagues with a low average of draws and by using the Betaminic statistics pages specifies individual team names to bet on when their previous match was under 2.5 goals. When these statistics line up, we get a selection. The strategy has a drawdown of -5 in the last 273 bets and -6 in the last 8 years of 3,671 bets. That is a really low level for so many bets. This strategy together with Goliath’s previous strategy could be a great selection provider for Lay The Draw trading and other goals based trading strategies on exchanges.

 

 

Maximum Drawdown No.4~10:

DNB Home win – strong teams comes up again, this time in 4^th position for low drawdowns. This is another sign of this strategy’s good points.

Sniper Over in 5^th positon is an exciting strategy by user guilhermehg. It backs the over 2.5 goals bet in matches where there is a strong away team that usually concedes goals It has a yield of 7.45% after 100 bets. Put this together with its extremely low drawdown of -5.87 makes you understand why it is named “sniper”. It is trying to focus on high value bets. It only finds 6 bets per month, but they seem to be well chosen.

Home w1n Andrea in 7^th position is also worth a mention. This strategy has average odds of 2.01, a win rate of 60% but a drawdown of just -7. That is low for comparable average odds. It looks to back teams with good home form and the opposition has poor away form. The strategy avoids low odds home teams, so it is a strategy that looks at form without being biased by the names of teams and expectations that come from that. The 6% yield is very good after 108 bets.

DENEME 8 YENİ STRATEJİ (8^th) is an interesting strategy from user GrandEkinoks. He has shared a number of successful strategies and this one could be another long term pattern. It backs X2 double chance bets and is getting a respectable 10% yield after over 200 bets and low drawdown of -11. It is worth keeping an eye on this one.

With statistics, the more data we have, the more confident we can be that a trend is true. So in this ranking we give importance to the number of bets that are in each strategy’s data set.

 

Big Data Rank No.1: EPL INVERSA

This strategy by user arisco, backs underdogs at home against odds-on away teams, in this way it is similar to DOUBE CHANCE in its core idea, but bets on the straight home win, rather than a home win or draw as DOUBE CHANCE does. It has over 800 bets in its Live Period since it was shared. It shows a 4.77% yield which is respectable for a long term strategy.

 

 

Big Data Rank No.2: Draw, both teams scored

This strategy by McMcDonald bets on draws. The strategy looks for teams that are scoring goals but are in a game that is expected to be a draw. At 3.08%, it has a lower yield than some other highlighted strategies, but the 764 bets since shared suggest a long term trend that can be followed as it is, or researched a little bit further to try to increase the yield. The user has found something, and there may be more to this trend.

Other strategies Home Team Recent Streak: Few Draws, Colossus 14 Home Blanks Away Scoring, DRAW YENİ STRATEJİ and Draw high odds under have yields in the 3-5% range. All of these strategies have over 500 bets in their data sets. #3 DOUBE CHANCE – while this strategy didn’t get in the top 3 of any of the tables, it did appear in 2019 and 2020 tables as a highlighted strategy. It has a good yield of 13.53%, 410 bets to back up its trend and low drawdown of -11. It is a good starting strategy to follow together with the Colossus 06 Scoring Away Overs. High Profit System

Here 5 of the top 10 high profit strategies have been put together, each following a different betting market pattern. This is to create a profit focused system.

We can see from the monthly profits chart that there are smoother profits each month with much fewer losing months. The results show a fantastic 20 point points per month average and a yield of 20%. Over a year that could mean nearly 240 points. With a drawdown of -48.95, if you start with a standard betting bank of 100 points; stake 1 point per bet and re-calculate the stake of 1 point based on the current betting balance every 10 bets. This will protect the bank in bad runs and take advantage of good runs. At an average of 20 points per month, you might even double your bank every 6 months on average. This seems like a great strategy for profit building.

 

High Yield System

This high yield system is made up of 5 of the top 10 yielding strategies. This is to create a high yield system with all the strategies over 15% yields.

The data suggests that the betting bank could be doubled in 6 months. Again we can see how using multiple strategies together smooths out the monthly results and leads to a more stable progression. By using strategies that focus on different aspects of the betting markets, we also spread the risk if one of the trends changes.

 

Low Drawdown System

This Low Drawdown system is made up of 5 of the lowest drawdown strategies. This is to create a lower risk system with all the strategies of drawdowns under 6.

 Away X 4 Over (Over 2.5 goals), Double Chance Home or Away win (DC 12), No more draws in my life (DC 12), DNB Home win – strong teams (Home Win (DNB), Sniper Over (Over 2.5 goals)

 

This low drawdown system manages to keep a yield of 10.42% but gets the drawdown to -19.17 which is lower than the High Profit System (-49) or the High Yield System (-46). Its average odds of 1.56 and win rate of 71% mean it should not have so many losses in a row and not stretch the betting bank. The data suggests an average of 12 points profit per month. With this system it would be possible to bet 4 points per bet from a standard 100 point betting bank with re-calculations of the stake size every 10 bets.
