Every year we rank the best betting strategies by profit, yield, drawdown and Betaminic rating. Here we can see the long term winning strategies and also see some new strategy ideas that have been successful. In this article we will highlight the top performing strategies and show how they can work together in a multi-strategy betting system. With big data from the Betamin Builder tool, we can easily see what worked historically and follow those strategies for the best chance of success in the future.

What is Betaminic and its Betamin Builder Tool?

The Betaminic website provides a tool called the “Betamin Builder” that has a database of over 10 years of football statistics and matching bookmaker odds covering 111 leagues around the world. This means that you can backtest betting strategy ideas very easily with real historical bookmaker odds. So if you can find a betting strategy that has worked long term historically, then you can reasonably expect that such a betting strategy has more chance of making profit than a betting system that has not been independently backtested yourself (like many paid tipsters and other betting systems for sale out there).

What are the Public Strategies?

Betaminic has been running since 2017 and many users share their strategies on the “public strategies” page inside the Betamin Builder. It is free to sign up and look at those strategies. In the beginning, it is probably easier to just follow the most successful publicly shared strategies. And then you can start to create your own private strategies later on if you get inspired to do so. The strategies can be ranked in many ways, such as by profit and loss, yield, drawdown and other factors. We also have our own “Betaminc rating” that we use to make it easier to see which strategies are performing the best. The Betaminc rating is the default order that the public strategies are listed in. So the easiest way to start is to click on the “follow” button for a few of the top ranking strategies that you like the look of. In this article, we rank those public strategies and explain them in a bit more detail so you can see which strategies are performing the best right now.

General Ranking Rules

We have only included strategies that:

• Have a yield of 3% or more in their “Since shared” data set.
• Have more than 100 bets in their “Since shared” data set

There are more than 600 publicly shared strategies at the moment. In order to make the rankings more meaningful we have excluded strategies that have a yield of less than 3% in their “Since shared” period of data. Why is the “Since shared” period important? The “Since shared” period has the results of the strategy since it was shared publicly. This means that the strategy has not been edited or changed since that point. We can see very clearly what results would have been achieved if the betting strategy rules that were set had been followed. When researching strategies it is important to avoid data mining (selecting only good results from the data) and to find real trends and patterns in the historical data. A very simple way is to confirm this is to look at the “Since shared” results are positive and the trend is continuing. We also exclude strategies with less than 100 bets in their “Since shared” results data set. This is because we feel that less than 100 bets is not enough to say with confidence whether a strategy is continuing the trend that was researched. With these 2 filters, we then rank the remaining 103 strategies that meet these requirements. This does however mean that a number of the recently updated versions of old strategies have not yet reached enough bets to be included in these rankings, but it does not mean that those updated strategies are bad strategies. If we see that their original strategies are ranked highly in 2022, then we can be encouraged that the updated strategies will also continue to take advantage of the profitable trend being followed, with the advantage of following it in more leagues.

Top 10 by Profit

 

Profits No.1:  +83.89 points        Contend UD by User Misbe91

This home win strategy was shared in May 2020 and has been running for over two and a half years. You can login to the Betamin Builder to see the exact strategy filters, but this strategy’s basic core idea is to back home teams that have not won in the medium term form stats while at home. This is an against the trend strategy. It goes against the crowd. It does not bet on the obvious choice looking at the recent form. But as suggested in this article by one of our users who is an ex-sportsbook employee, the public market often pushes down the odds of the obvious choices that follow the trend, meaning the unpopular bets rise in value above their fair odds. This s where we can capitalize on the opportunity and get value odds. This method has led to a stunning 9% yield after 923 bets. That is a very significant data of bets to get confidence from. It is nearly to the 1,000 bet mark. Its maximum drawdown is only -28 points across all its All Results history of 3,400 bets since March 2012. It has a 35% win rate and average odds of 3.63 which means it needs discipline to follow since more than 50% of bets will be losers. You really have to understand the meaning of value betting to be able to follow this strategy. Despite a win rate of 35%, the odds being offered on these matches are equivalent to a win rate lower than 35%, so the longer we keep betting on this trend, the more chance we will get results similar to the long-term trend of +9% ROI. If we look at the monthly P/L we can see there are winning and losing months, sometimes 2-3 months of flat results and then a few big profit months. This really shows the need for discipline with value betting. You need to make a plan to follow this strategy long term. If you follow it for 25 bets, it is pure luck if you will make a profit or not. If you follow it for 100 bets, you have much more chance of getting results nearer to the trend, and if you follow it for 1,000 bets, you will have the best possible chance of getting the same results as this strategy has if the trend continues. Rather than thinking of time in terms of how many months you need o follow this strategy, it is better to think of time in terms of number of bets. You need to follow this strategy for over 500 bets to reasonably expect to achieve similar trend line results. This strategy has been running since 2020 and has been high on the ratings table many times. It truly is a worthy profit champion for 2022. We highly recommend adding this to your set of strategies.

Profits No.2:  +80.94 points         Home king by User AugustinVidic

The second placed strategy by profit is another home bet strategy. This is also an against the trend style strategy. It backs home teams that have not won in terms of very short term form when they are playing an away team that has not lost in their very recent form. It also looks for home teams in a very narrow band of odds. It is possible that there may be some very limited overlapping between this strategy and the previous Contend UD strategy, but due to their filters it is likely that both strategies will produce a lot of separate picks. So it is okay to follow both of these strategies at the same time. The big differences between these two strategies is that Home King is looking at the very recent form of both the home and away team and limiting that to a narrow band of home win odds, whereas the previous Contend UD only looks at the home team medium term form with a much a wider range of home win odds. The aspect that both of theses strategies have is that they are against the trend style in their core logic. We again see that to beat the market we must think in a different way to the general public. Another plus point of this strategy is that its winning and losing months seem much more evenly spread out. It has a very strong 8.28% yield after 977 bets. Those are very strong numbers that we can have true confidence in. The Since shared drawdown is -28 but the All Results drawdown is -44, so it has more volatility than the previous Contend UD strategy. The win rate is lower at 32%, but it has more profit per month (average +3.91 vs. +3.65) since it has more bets per month (average bets per month 41 vs 26). We recommend both strategies, but if you  had to pick one, it would be Home King due to its more even monthly performance.

Profits No.3:  +77.73 points         Colossus 06 Scoring Away Overs (Betaminic)

Colossus 06 Scoring Away Overs by Betaminic is a long, long term winner. It has been in the top rankings every year in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and now again in 2022. It does have long flat and sometimes negative runs, but over the long term it has generated +77.73 points after 1,385 bets with a yield of 5.61%. That is a really solid performance after over 1,000 bets. Its win rate of 56% makes it a comfortable strategy to follow. This strategy is highly recommended and should be one of the first ones on any big data bettor’s portfolio list. Its low Maximum Drawdown of -23.88 since 2012 is very soothing for the nerves, too. It looks for fixtures where the away team has been scoring well, but the home team has struggled. The logic is that if the away team scores a goal, the home team will have to come out and fight to get a result, which means a more open game and more chances of goals being scored.

Profits No.4-10

 Mid Table Team by User Maxi

This draw backing strategy looks for mid table teams where there is no obvious favourite and the under 2.5 goals selection is strongly odds on. The 6.93% yield after 1,018 bets is very respectable. It has been running since April 2021 and is still going well.

Colossus 10 Away Dog Draw by Betaminic

This strategy backs the draw when the away team is the underdog but not with such high odds that suggest it has no chance, plus only in games where over 2.5 goals are strongly expected. Its profit results are very strong, but we would not recommend following this strategy since its maximum drawdown is a very high -72 and the top 3 strategies by profit are much better strategies to follow.

Big vs Good – Top Leagues by User Maxi

This draw backing strategy looks for very strong home teams playing decent away teams. The logic is sound and it adds in an odds filter to make the home team the evens weak favourite. After 423 bets it has a +14.72% yield which is very high! It has few picks per month, an average of 10, but it is quite efficient with those bets. The drawdown is a very manageable -30.

No Draws Medium Streak – Both Teams by User Maxi

This draw backing strategy by User Maxi was shared in May 2019 and has been made +60 points from 631 bets in almost 4 years with a respectable 9.57% yield. The core idea behind it looks for matches where there have not been draws in the short term but excludes matches that show long term drawless runs. It also looks for matches with few goals expected. Together with finding the most efficient odds bands for this strategy, it has created some excellent results that put it at the top of the Betaminic profit rankings in 2021 with 90 points and a +19% yield. But in 2022 it has struggled to keep that trend with -30 points for this year. Its long term yield is 11%, so we can almost see the results of 2022 as a natural return to the long term trend line of 11% after an above average performance in 2021. With the current since shared yield at 9%, we could even hypothesise that this strategy is going to start producing new profits in 2023. If we look at the monthly results, we can see clearly that it often has winning runs of 2-3 months and losing runs of 1-2 months. We really want to highlight this point that with this style of betting system, we must think long term and we must be prepared for losing runs that last months, not days. It needs a long term mentality and staking plan to get through those flat and negative months in order to make the most of the winning months. These are the results with level stakes, but the right staking plan can get even more out of it. We can also see the very profitable months coming after losing months or a period of flat months. This strategy has an All Results Maximum Drawdown of -36.95 which suggests betting 2% of the bank would be a reasonable staking plan to start with. That would double the profits shown with 1 point levels takes. This strategy only generates 15 bets per month, and so is easy to follow by anyone. It would take less than 15 minutes each month to place those bets after the alert emails are received. The alert emails for future picks are sent around 48 hours before kick-off, so there is plenty of time to get those bets on.

Getting draws to 34%+ by User Adebola

This draw backing strategy is simple, but effective. It looks for matches where there is no clear favorite and few goals are expected. The yield is just 3.5%, but the 1,546 bets since shared makes it clear that it has found a real trend. The maximum drawdown of 64 is a little high, but the strong data supporting this one makes it very interesting.

Not home on. by User Adebola

This home team backing strategy was shared in August 2020 and has been running for over two a half years. It has made +48 points profit in that time after 1,247 bets with a 3.88% yield. It basically backs underdogs at home with poor recent form when they play an away team that isn’t a super strong favourite in terms of long term away form. This ends up with betting on higher than normal home odds and can have longer losing runs as a result of natural variance. Its low 28% win rate gives it a lower hit rate than draw betting. This strategy produces an average of 35 bets per month which is an easy amount to manage. It is worth noting that this strategy has a drawdown of -80 points which is very high and it may be better following other less volatile strategies.

Draw, both teams scored by User McMcDonald

Another draw backing strategy makes the profit top 10. This time looking for teams where the draw odds are on the lower side, but both teams have been scoring in recent games. We are expecting that if one team scores then the other team has the form to equalize an we can expect 1-1 and 2-2 draws.

Yield No.1:   Colossus 08 Underestimated Underdog (Updated 2020-07-04) (Betaminic)

Colossus 08 Underestimated Underdog (Updated 2020-07-04) by Betaminic backs the underdog in matches where both teams have above average form in the last 20 games. It has a 27% yield after 118 bets. It sometimes backs the home team and sometimes the away team. This strategy only focusses on 2 leagues in Holland and Poland and has just 3 bets per month. Despite a low win rate of just 27%, its drawdown is just -21. This is one example of how a strategy focussed on just a few leagues can find value in leagues that have distinctly different characteristics from other leagues. The Betaminic football statistic database is perfect for finding these niche value trends.

Yield No.2:  TOM WHITAKER BSG 09 Very Poor Home (twsystem1bm)

TOM WHITAKER BSG 09 Very Poor Home by user twsystem1bm has settings very similar to Contend UD, the number one ranked strategy by profit. The difference is that this strategy cuts out very strong odds on home prices and also uses fewer leagues. The yield of +26% after 133 bets I very impressive. The drawdown is a -33 in its all results period and has a decent win rate of 38%. The profit graph looks like it is moving upwards in jumps and then flat periods. The next jump looks to be coming soon.

 

Yield No.3:  TOM WHITAKER BSG 09 Very Poor Home (Updated 2021-4-30) (twsystem1bm)

This is the same as TOM WHITAKER BSG 09 Very Poor Home but edited out an extra league so that it did not overlap with other strategies in the BSG set. It has slightly less yield of 24% after 126 bets. Since it is so similar to the other strategy we will treat it as the same and take a look at the next best yielding strategy.

 

Yield No.4 Winless Home v Undefeated Away Last 3 All 111 of 111 leagues (Based on Home King by AugustinVidic) (twsystem1bm)

This strategy, as the name suggests, is based on Home King, the second best strategy ranked by profit. But in this case, it is applied to all 111 leagues of the enlarged database. The original strategy has obviously found a good trend, and this user has taken and adapted those settings to try it across all leagues. It is very encouraging when a strategy shows profit across all leagues since it suggests we have found a truly global trend that works across all markets. This strategy uses a narrower odds band. The original strategy, Home King, has more data (977 bets) in its since shared data set, which makes us recommend the original over this version, but it is very encouraging to know that it taps into a universal trend that works across all leagues.

 

Yield No.5-10:  

Funger Over 2,5 – 1 (Funger78) is a very impressive over 2.5 goals strategy that has 16% yield after 187 bets. It looks for games close to evens for the over 2,5 goals bet, but where the home team is the favorite, and then adds in a touch of against the trend by looking for home and away teams with recent under 2.5 goals form. The profit graph since shared looks like a very smooth increasing line and this is becoming a highly recommended strategy. 10 out of the last 14 months have been in profit for this strategy.

Gana Local (hank2182) is another strategy betting against the trend by backing home teams with poor recent home form. It has a solid 16% yield after 281 bets.

TLC 1X2 (The Last Chance) backs the weak favorite in 11 selected leagues which might be viewed as minor leagues. Its 13% yield after 218 bets makes it an interesting new strategy that was only shared 5 months ago and has an average of 50 bets per month.

Big vs Good – Top Leagues by User Maxi

This draw backing strategy looks for very strong home teams playing decent away teams. The logic is sound and it adds in an odds filter to make the home team the evens weak favourite. After 423 bets it has a +14.72% yield which is very high! It has few picks per month, an average of 10, but it is quite efficient with those bets. The drawdown is a very manageable -30.  It is in both the top 10 rankings for profit and for yield.

‘Cause this is Africa (Maxi) is a strategy that focuses on just 3 African leagues and backs the draw in matches where there is an odds on home favorite but few goals are expected. It has a strong 18% yield after 114 bets. This is an interesting example of applying a betting strategy to a geographical are where playing styles may be distinct and different from the European main leagues where a lot of the data that is used to build the market modelling systems come from. In other words, there is less data from these countries and there may be a distinctly different style of play to be found there. This strategy seems to have found one of those trends and can turn a profit from it. This user, Maxi, has created a number of excellent draw strategies and that is his area of expertise, so we do recommend taking a closer look at this one.

It has just focused on the highest yielding leagues and has managed to find a high yielding trend of +14% after 285 bets. The drawdown is a very low -14 points, so it is a very suitable for the most conservative bettors.

  

Top 10 by Max. Drawdown

 

Max. Drawdown No.1: TOM WHITAKER BSG 05 Scoring Teams Home Favourites (twsystem1bm)

This strategy backs the home favorite when the home & away teams have good scoring averages within a specific range. The away team goal average pushes the home odds up slightly. The high win rate of 71% is part of the reason why its all results max drawdown is just -7.64. In the since shared period, the worst run was -6.45 points. For users who like low odds, high win rates and low drawdowns, then this is an excellent strategy to follow.

Max. Drawdown No.2:  Sayar’s Under 2.5 (A1) (SayarKyaw)

Sayar’s Under 2.5 (A1)) by User SayarKyaw backs the under 2.5 goal bet in matches where the away team is the favourite and the away team also has a good defensive record with 0-1 or 0-2 expected. Since the home team knows they are the underdogs, if they do get a goal, they will likely hang onto their 1-0 lead and play defensively, even settling for a 1-1 if the away side do equalize. This is a match with many under 2.5 goal scenarios. After 182 bets it boasts an 8% yield with just a -11.43 maximum drawdown over the past 10 years. It has just gone through some negative variance and is due a positive run to return to its original trend yield of 13%. So it could be a very good time to start following this one.

Max. Drawdown No.3: UNDER MİN 2 YENİ STRATEJİ (GrandEkinoks)

 

UNDER MİN 2 YENİ STRATEJİby User GrandEkinoks is an under 2.5 goals backing strategy that looks to bet against the very short term trend of over 2.5 goals in a match that is expected to have under 2.5 goals. This simple but effective strategy has a drawdown of just -11.92 that came in its Since Shared period. This is very low for a 53% win rate strategy. This strategy was also in the top 10 low drawdowns in 2021 and has kept its place.

Max. Drawdown No.4-10:

FAV. (Dave3310) is a strategy that backs the home favorite when it has a high goals average, but only in certain leagues. One very, very big plus for this strategy is its consistency. It’s all results yield is 4.98% and its since shared yield is almost the same at 4.68% at the 253 bet mark. The trend that was researched has continued almost exactly. The drawdown is just -12.95 over the past 10 years and since shared just -7. 4 out of the last 5 months have been in profit. This is definitely a strategy to follow or at least keep an eye on.

BANKER?? (Dave3310) has the same settings as his previous “FAV.” Strategy, but applies it to fewer leagues. This version has about 28 bets per month, but “FAV.” has about 37 bets per month. “FAV.” produces more profit. These strategies will have overlapping bets, so it is best to pick one of them to follow and “FAV.” seems to be the better of the two.

e2 (JOSE ANTONIO) backs the favourite, usually the home team, when they are not odds on but have above average home form against an away team that is not a superpower. It catches home teams at decent above evens prices and keeps an amazing -14.19 Max Drawdown despite a 54% win rate and average odds of 2.32. Its +12% yield after nearly 300 bets makes it a good strategy to consider.

Colossus 05 Against the Trend Overs AL (Updated 2020-07-04) (Betaminic) has the same strategy settings as the very successful ALL LEAGUES Over 2.5 against trend / TODAS las LIGAS Más 2.5 contra tendencia (Updated 2021-10-20), but only uses 6 leagues. It has just focused on the highest yielding leagues and has managed to find a high yielding trend of +14% after 285 bets. The drawdown is a very low -14 points, so it is a very suitable for the most conservative bettors.

x 4 + (luisbang) This over 2.5 goals backing strategy was shared in August 2019 and has been running for over 3 and a half years. While it does have long flat patches, its overall trajectory is upward. Since April 2021 it is has seen a consistent growth. Its -14.9 maximum drawdown came in its Since Shared period which means it has experienced its worst run since it was shared, however even that was just -14.9 points. This is extremely low considering its 58% win rate. A +7.30% yield from 321 bets shows a good ROI level. It looks for games where the draw is not expected and goals are also expected. Neither team has had a long run of not scoring, so the fixture is framed nicely for goals. With such goal forecasting strategies, it is also possible to get more value out of the picks by placing extra bets on the pre-match over 1.5 goals market instead of simply increasing the stake sizes on the over 2.5 goals bet. This strategy has just had its first losing month after a 7-month consecutive winning streak!

(Ultimate JHT) Over 2.5 #1 (JHT) is an over 2.5 goals strategy that has similar settings to the Colossus 06 which looks at home teams that have not scored and away teams that have scored recently, but different league filters. The user recommends it is used in conjunction with (Ultimate JHT) Over 2.5 #2 which uses entirely different filters that focus on finding home and away teams that are on medium term streaks of conceding goals. The two strategies may have some separate unique bets and overlapping bets but we think this is the point of the “Ultimate” title that it is given and when both strategies have the same game, it should be bet on twice. Both strategies are performing well and could give the Colossus 06 a goo battle for top spot in the future.

DENEME 8 YENİ STRATEJİ (GrandEkinoks) has been running for 3 and a half years and is still showing a strong 4.58% yield after 426 bets. It bets on the Double Chance X2 draw or away win bet for teams where the away team is seen as stronger than the home team but the recent form is in favour of the home team, not the away team. This strategy’s Maximum Drawdown is -15.26.

 

 

Top 10 by Betaminic Rating

 

The Betaminic rating is a way we try to show that A) the strategy is in profit since it was created and shared, and also B) how likely the strategy is based on a real trend and not just a lucky good run. In complicated terms, the rating is connected to a strategy’s “p-value”. The P-Value is calculated based on a series of indicators, such as the number of bets, yield, average odds among others. In simple terms, the higher the rating, the better. The highest rating possible is 100.

 

Betaminic Rating No 1: Colossus 06 Scoring Away Overs (Betaminic)

3^rd by profit, now also 1^st by Betaminic rating. This strategy is strong in many areas and gets a high rating of 89. This strongly suggests that the results are based on a real profitable trend and not just a lucky run.

 

Betaminic Rating No.2: Colossus 05 Against the Trend Overs AL (Updated 2020-07-04) (Betaminic)

 

10^th yield, 7^th by drawdown and now also 2^nd by Betaminic rating. This strategy is strong in many areas and also gets a high rating of 86.

Colossus 05 Against the Trend Overs AL (Updated 2020-07-04) has the same strategy settings as the very successful ALL LEAGUES Over 2.5 against trend / TODAS las LIGAS Más 2.5 contra tendencia (Updated 2021-10-20), but only uses 6 leagues. It has just focused on the highest yielding leagues and has managed to find a high yielding trend of +14% after 285 bets. The drawdown is a very low -14 points, so it is a very suitable for the most conservative bettors.

 

Betaminic Rating No.3: Funger Over 2,5 – 1 (Funger78)

 

5^th by yield, this strategy has been running for a long time and continues to give good results with a high rating of 68.

Funger Over 2,5 – 1 is a very impressive over 2.5 goals strategy that has 16% yield after 187 bets. It looks for games close to evens for the over 2,5 goals bet, but where the home team is the favorite, and then adds in a touch of against the trend by looking for home and away teams with recent under 2.5 goals form. The profit graph since shared looks like a very smooth increasing line and this is becoming a highly recommended strategy. 10 out of the last 14 months have been in profit for this strategy.

 

Betaminic Rating No.4-10:

Pro6 Against the Trend Overs v2 (Updated 2020-07-15) (Betaminic) this focuses on just a few leagues to get value over 2.5 goal bets. Its Betaminic rating of 52 suggests it has found a good trend and its all results yield and since shared yield closely match.

bei over2,5 (tibur1993) This strategy has similar filters to the Colossus 06 but has different league choices.

Away weak favourite 41 of 111 leagues 4%+ yields (twsystem1bm) This strategy has a very smooth upward profit graph in its since shared period. Just like the name suggests, it looks for weak away favorites and backs them in matches where the home team is not on super strong recent form. With 584 bets in its since shared period, it has an impressive 8.59% yield and a low -16.89 drawdown. This is a great example of how a strategy with a solid logic behind it can make consistent profit.

ALL LEAGUES Over 2.5 against trend / TODAS las LIGAS Más 2.5 contra tendencia (Updated 2021-10-20) (Betaminic) This strategy backs the over 2.5 goal bet when the home team is the favorite and the over 2.5 goal bet is about evens and both teams have a recent form of not scoring many. As the name suggests it goes against the trend in this way. The name suggests that it is applied to all leagues, but it actually only uses 77 of the 111 leagues. The strategy does work across all leagues, but in order to be more efficient and cut out the leagues with the weakest trend, it excludes 34 of the lower performing leagues. This has led to better performance than the original strategy. After 671 bets it has a 7.56% yield. These are really strong numbers and this is one of our highly recommended personal favourites.

Big vs Good – Top Leagues (Maxi) This draw backing strategy looks for very strong home teams playing decent away teams. The logic is sound and it adds in an odds filter to make the home team the evens weak favourite. After 423 bets it has a +14.72% yield which is very high! It has few picks per month, an average of 10, but it is quite efficient with those bets. The drawdown is a very manageable -30.

Back in the saddle (Maxi) This draw backing strategy is similar to this user’ other draw strategy ‘Cause this is Africa that only use 3 African leagues. The difference is that Back in the saddle focuses on matches with away underdogs and ‘Cause this is Africa focusses on matches where the home team is a favorite. You would think that this would produce almost the same bets, but it does not. While there are a lot of overlapping bets, there are a number of separate and unique picks, too. Both strategies have found a trend in the 3 African leagues and Back in the saddle has 46 points profit with a +15% yield after 303 bets. ‘Cause this is Africa has 21 points profit with +8% yield after 114 bets, so Back in the saddle seems the better performing of the two since it makes more profit after starting around the same time in March 2022.

TOM WHITAKER BSG 09 Very Poor Home (twsystem1bm) is 2^nd in the yields ranking and has settings very similar to Contend UD, the number one ranked strategy by profit. The difference is that this strategy cuts out very strong odds on home prices and also uses fewer leagues. The yield of +26% after 133 bets I very impressive. The drawdown is a -33 in its all results period and has a decent win rate of 38%. The profit graph looks like it is moving upwards in jumps and then flat periods. The next jump looks to be coming soon.

TLC 1X2 (The Last Chance) backs the weak favorite in 11 selected leagues which might be viewed as minor leagues. Its 13% yield after 218 bets makes it an interesting new strategy that was only shared 5 months ago and has an average of 50 bets per month.

Contend UD (Misbe91) 1^st in the profit rankings and is 10^th in the Betaminic ratings rankings.

 

 

Top 10 by Big Data

This table ranks strategies that are in profit and have yields of more than 3% by the number of bets in their Since Shared data set. The more bets we have in their Since Shared data set, the more confident we can be that this trend is continuing long term and over a large number of matches. More than judging strategies by how long in terms of time they have kept producing profit, we should think about judging strategies by after how many bets they have kept producing profit. A strategy that produces 10% yield over 5 years but only has 100 bets (+10 points profit in 5 years) is much less useful than a strategy that produces 3% yield over 6 months but has had 1,000 bets (+30 points profit in 6 months). Overall, the lower yield – higher volume strategy produces more profit. If you are wanting to know “Which strategies have been working and making profit the longest?” then this big data ranking is the best way to see that.

 

Big Data No.1: Colossus 10 Away Dog Draw (Betaminic)

This draw backing strategy looks for matches where the away team is a slight underdog but not so poor as to have odds that suggest no chance. It also looks for games where goals are expected. This is a very long running strategy in terms of number of bets and in terms of time. It was shared in September 2018 over 4 years ago and has produced 1,724 bets in that time. It has been a hard one to follow with a long losing run from November 2020 to May 2021, but despite that it has produced +68.87 points with a yield of 4%. Its maximum drawdown of -72 means it has a lot of volatility and needs a disciplined long term staking plan. But the results are proof that big data betting based on historical data do lead to long term profitable strategies if you stick with them for as many bets as possible. The more bets you stay with the strategy, the more chance of getting results similar to the researched trend.

 

Big Data No.2: Getting draws to 34%+ (Adebola)

 

This draw backing strategy is simple, but effective. It looks for matches where there is no clear favorite and few goals are expected. The yield is just 3.5%, but the 1,546 bets since shared makes it clear that it has found a real trend. The 10 year maximum drawdown of 64 is a little high, but the strong data supporting this one makes it very interesting. This draw strategy looks a little easer to follow than the previous Colossus 10 Away Dog Draw.

 

Big Data No.3: Draw, both teams scored (McMcDonald)

 

Draw, both teams scoredby User McMcDonald backs the draw in games where the team are good at scoring goals, so a score draw can be expected. Backing the 1-1 or 2-2 in the correct score market adds another opportunity to add value to the strategy picks. This strategy has been going for over 4 years and has kept a 3.97% yield after 1,495 bets. Any strategy that gets past the 1,000 bet mark with yields near 4% is a significant achievement.

 

Big Data No.4-10:

Colossus 06 Scoring Away Overs (Betaminic) is another old-faithful with 1,382 bets over 4 and a half years. It did this with a 5.84% yield, making it the highest yielding strategy with over 1,000 bets under its belt.

Not home on. (Adebola)This home team backing strategy was shared in August 2020 and has been running for over two a half years. It has made +48 points profit in that time after 1,247 bets with a 3.88% yield. It basically backs underdogs at home with poor recent form when they play an away team that isn’t a super strong favourite in terms of long term away form. This ends up with betting on higher than normal home odds and can have longer losing runs as a result of natural variance. Its low 28% win rate gives it a lower hit rate than draw betting. This strategy produces an average of 35 bets per month which is an easy amount to manage. It is worth noting that this strategy has a drawdown of -80 points which is very high and it may be better following other less volatile strategies.

Golden6.1 – Big Vs Good (Betaminic) This draw backing strategy has had a bumpy ride over the years and has the same filter settings as Big vs Good – Top Leagues by User Maxi. The difference is that this version is applied to many more leagues, while Maxi’s version is applied to fewer leagues. This strategy looks for very strong home teams playing decent away teams. The logic is sound and it adds in an odds filter to make the home team the evens weak favourite. This version has a commendable 3.26% yield after 1,128 bets, but Maxi’s version has performed better with a 14.72% yield after 423. So we would choose Max’s version over this one.

cidmarcos_Over 2.5 (cidmarcos) This strategy has the same filters as the Colossus 06 but with different league selections. It has not performed as well as the original so we would stick with the Colossus 06.

Mid Table Team (Maxi) This draw backing strategy looks for mid table teams where there is no obvious favourite and the under 2.5 goals selection is strongly odds on. The 6.93% yield after 1,018 bets is very respectable. It has been running since April 2021 and is still going well.

Reverse streak of away team light version (Highstakes) This strategy backs the away weak favorite when both teams have not won much recently. The away team is slight favorites and is expected to have a good chance to win. +4.86% yield after nearly 1,000 bets with a drawdown of just -22 points in 10 years makes this one of the most consistent of these big data proven strategies.

Home king (AugustinVidic) was 2^nd in the profit rankings. This is an against the trend style strategy. It backs home teams that have not won in terms of very short-term form when they are playing an away team that has not lost in their very recent form. It also looks for home teams in a very narrow band of odds. Both Home King and Contend UD have near 1,000 bets in their since shared period with yield getting close to 10% and worthy of being followed.

There are a lot of good strategies highlighted in this article, and it can be hard to know which ones to follow. So we have condensed them down into a final overall ranking of which strategies have performed the best over multiple categories. No.1: Contend UD by User Misbe91

Contend UD has a high yield of 9.23% yield after 917 bets and produces 26 picks per month which has enabled it to create a significant profit of 84.63 points in 2.5 years. Its maximum drawdown of -28 is very manageable and it looks like a good profit generating strategy.

 

No.2: Home king by User AugustinVidic

Home King is similar to Contend UD in terms of having a high 8.51% yield after 975 bets in its Since shared period. But is pushed into second due to its slightly higher drawdown of -44. It has a large variance which means sticking to a good staking plan is important. But this strategy, too, produces a large amount of profit of 82 points in 2 years, a slighter faster rate than Contend UD.

 

No.3: Colossus 06 Scoring Away Overs by Betaminic

This strategy has consistently been in the top rankings for years on end (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022). While it does have its flat runs, it remains one of the most consistent long term strategies and should be first any user’s list of strategies to follow. 5.84% yield after 1,282 bets in its Since Shared period and a low -22 drawdown make it a real top quality strategy.

This large multi-strategy set produces around 250 picks per month with a yield of about 10% giving an average monthly profit target of about 24 points. Despite including 9 strategies, it only has a drawdown of -55 points which is quite acceptable for so many strategies being used together.  Betting 1-2 points per pick would work for this set. The monthly results show a reasonably stable performance in 2022 and indeed for most of its history. This is a great example of how several strategies can be used together to smooth out individual strategy ups and downs.
